📋 Description

• Coordinate and support personal injury department functions related to medical records and billing • Initiate medical records by creating and processing patient cases • Retrieve medical records through chart exporting and document retrieval issues for statistical and follow-up purposes • Deliver charts/requests to assigned personnel or company • Communicate record availability or unavailability to healthcare providers, requesters, and attorneys • Maintain continuity of operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA rules and regulations • Forward records to third-party vendors as necessary • Call patients to gather information • Verify auto insurance, personal health insurance, insurance payments, and balances • Contact attorneys to gather policy limit information and accident details • Schedule patients or pass them to patient access for scheduling once complete and cleared • Create billing statements for Clearway Pain and Clearway Surgery Center • Verify billing balances against patient accounts and send statements to requested parties • Establish points of contact with attorney offices and patients • Check work email regularly throughout the workday • Participate in and complete required trainings and in-services • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience • Must live in one of the states where the company operates: MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, or TX • Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, co-workers, and the public • Ability to work individually and within a team • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability to work a flexible schedule • Patience and understanding during stressful patient-health and emergent situations • Ability to multitask and prioritize • Extreme attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Problem-solving and reasoning abilities • Ability to meet predefined quality standards • Professional attitude and appearance • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding rules • Solid foundation of insurance knowledge and third-party payer guidelines • Working knowledge of healthcare, medical specialties, and medical terminology • Strong desire to provide excellent customer service • Compliance with applicable organizational rules and regulations • High ethical and professional standards • Preferred: experience with motor vehicle insurance or a Chiropractor's office • Preferred: two (2) years' experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) • Preferred: Medical Billing Certification • Reliable transportation
