📋 Description

• Manage initial consult and follow-up patients for the virtual Pathology Anemia and Micronutrient Deficiency team • Provide primary and/or specialty care in accordance with certification and licensure • Conduct medical histories and complete physical examinations where indicated • Initiate and interpret laboratory, radiology, cardiographic, and other diagnostic tests • Establish working diagnoses and treatment plans • Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged • Prescribe and monitor medications as permitted by licensure and applicable policies • Educate patients about diseases, treatments, drug side effects, and hazards • Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with healthcare team members • Refer patients to specialists and specialized health resources as appropriate • Ensure continuity of care and liaise with multidisciplinary and specialty teams • Review records and treatment plans to monitor quality and patient outcomes • Facilitate length of stay, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance for inpatient management • Support professional development of the healthcare team • Promote evidence-based practices, guidelines, and research translation • Conduct research studies and assist with data collection and analysis • Serve as clinical preceptor for students and onboard new caregivers • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience • Hematology/Oncology experience required • Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner (Family, Primary, Acute) • MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role • Graduate of an accredited APRN program • Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s) • Must be licensed as an RN in applicable state(s) • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally accredited organization recognized by the state Board of Nursing • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required • ACLS or PALS through the American Heart Association, or NRP through the American Academy of Pediatrics, may be required based upon work setting • Arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with applicable State Board of Nursing requirements • Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of applicable hospitals • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team • Demonstrated competency in advanced assessment and diagnosis • Demonstrated ability to utilize the electronic medical record • High standard of moral and ethical behavior • Compassion, professionalism, and commitment to excellent patient care • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action • Must comply with controlled-substance testing after employment offer • Must comply with the influenza prevention program or obtain an approved exemption • Ability to walk and stand for long periods • Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to perform physical examinations • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds • May require exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids • Follow standard precautions and use required personal protective equipment
