📋 Description

• Help patients navigate financial responsibilities without insurance or when insurance is not accepted at Cleveland Clinic • Prepare estimated costs of services • Request deposits for half of the estimated cost of services • Discuss eligibility for government or Cleveland Clinic Financial Assistance Programs • Counsel patients and parties responsible for payment regarding payment responsibilities and options • Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative payment sources and financial assistance • Explain financial responsibilities, payment options, and collection procedures • Contact insurance carriers or other sources and advocate for patients • Initiate prepayment collection and perform follow-up to maximize collection • Identify and resolve issues related to registration, financial clearance, insurance authorization, billing, explanations of benefits, provider-based billing, governmental requirements, HCAP/FAP policies, MyAccount, and collections • Update and correctly document information in the appropriate computer system

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience in a customer facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate’s Degree and two years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action • Banking experience preferred • Collections experience preferred • Experience working productivity goals, including case volume and collection metrics preferred • Ability to operate CRT/PC and other office equipment • Ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, with normal or corrected vision and sufficient manual dexterity • Must reside in Ohio and within approximately two hours of a Cleveland Clinic location • Must comply with the annual influenza prevention program, including vaccination or an approved exemption • Employment offers are followed by controlled-substance testing
