📋 Description

• Contribute to, analyze, and optimize the performance of the core ClickHouse database • Work on query optimization, distributed query optimization, relational operators, caching, and low-level SIMD optimizations • Extend existing and add new performance tests using real-world or synthetic datasets • Serve as a resource for Support Engineering by debugging advanced customer performance issues • Participate in an on-call rotation and external community support channels • Collaborate with other teams to assess the performance and reliability impact of new features • Resolve open-source issues, review and finish pull requests, and answer questions across mail, chats, Google Groups, and external Slack channels

🎯 Requirements

• Solid professional software development experience in C++ • Experience with Unix/Linux systems • Strong knowledge of database internals and design • Experience in performance engineering • Ability to communicate and work effectively within and across engineering teams • Ability to work closely with the open-source community • Code review experience with patience and attention to detail • Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills • Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance • High level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability • Experience with ClickHouse is a bonus • Experience in security, privacy, and compliance is a bonus • Experience with TCP/IP and network programming is a bonus • Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes, is a bonus • Experience giving public talks at technical conferences and meetups is a bonus • Previous contributions to open-source projects are a bonus
