📋 Description

• Maintain, design, and integrate process control systems on site • Report to the Electrical Engineer • Wire, terminate, and test 120V control systems and instrumentation panels according to approved schematics • Install, configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, belt scales, temperature transmitters, and valve controllers • Design and implement PLC code for site safety, environmental, and production needs • Support production goals and fixed plant maintenance through control-system modifications • Assist with equipment specifications related to control systems • Program and configure PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA systems • Design and implement network diagrams, loop diagrams, P&ID control depictions, Controls Narratives, and Cause and Effect documents • Maintain backup files for PLC and HMI programs • Install, commission, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives and Soft-Start equipment • Install and maintain control network equipment • Assist the Electrical Department with equipment installation and troubleshooting • Work overtime as needed for production down days, equipment failures, call-outs, troubleshooting, and project commissioning • Stop work when safety concerns arise and follow safety policies and procedures • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Clear verbal and written communication with all mine site personnel • Excellent safety, attendance, and work records • Ability to work outdoors in rain, snow, ice, wind, cold temperatures, and limited daylight • Ability to frequently stand and walk on uneven surface, including surface and underground areas • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and escapeways • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds often and up to 50 pounds occasionally • Ability to push and pull equipment or materials weighing 100+ pounds • Ability to wear required PPE, including respiratory protection when applicable • Ability to participate in emergency response and evacuation procedures • Instrumentation Technician Certification or equivalent work experience preferred • Knowledge of PLC, HMI, DCS, or SCADA systems preferred • Programming knowledge is a plus • Preference given to Alaska residents
