📋 Description

• Own exploration and identification of assessment design options for 6–8 new career-focused AP courses and future new courses • Lead ongoing assessment development from initial test blueprints through pilot exam versions and year-over-year item and version development • Identify, select, refine, and implement innovative item types for new career-focused AP Exams • Select the appropriate blend of traditional, skills-based, project-based, and performance-based formats and modalities • Partner with psychometric and curriculum experts to align course and assessment design • Build internal cases and stakeholder buy-in for new assessment approaches • Lead development of test blueprints and pilot exam versions • Define and own assessment models that generate, store, and enable student utilization of workforce credentials • Manage annual version development and usage braiding plans • Establish validity and defensibility for each assessment format introduced • Partner on exam version assembly, equating, and standard setting, including novel formats • Represent assessment considerations in cross-functional project reviews • Build and hire an assessment design team • Oversee calibration and training of subject matter expert panels • Approve assessment deliverables at project decision points

🎯 Requirements

• 10–15+ years in assessment design, test development, or curriculum leadership roles • Direct, hands-on exposure to assessment and measurement • Demonstrated track record of innovation in assessment design, ideally in skills-based, project-based, or credential-connected models • Working fluency in assessment data and psychometric output, including item statistics, score distributions, and equating concepts • Experience running complex, multi-stakeholder timelines against fixed external deadlines • Track record of driving change and building buy-in across stakeholders with differing perspectives • Experience building and leading teams in a matrixed organization • Passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, willingness to experiment with and adopt AI-driven solutions, and comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Learner's mindset and commitment to growth • Drive for impact and excellence, including solving complex problems and making data-informed decisions • Collaborative and empathetic approach • Authorization to work in the United States
