• Preserve and improve the quality and validity of AP exams, course curricula, and professional development content for Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics • Lead assessment development and final approval of exam items and forms across multiple AP course titles • Author, review, revise, and manage formative and summative assessment content and scoring materials • Use generative AI appropriately to improve assessment creation, review, fairness, validity, and efficiency • Train and collaborate with subject-matter experts, including college professors and secondary school teachers • Translate between academic experts and psychometricians • Lead Test Development Committee meetings and supervise committee contributors and reviewers • Lead annual AP Reading scoring events and produce publications for teachers and students • Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability • Establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores with psychometrics and AP staff • Provide functional leadership, training, mentoring, and consultation to course experts • Refine course frameworks and support new AP products and instructional resources • Present, speak, and moderate dialogue with academic and membership audiences as needed
• Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, or a directly related discipline required • Doctorate in the discipline strongly preferred • Expertise in Precalculus, Calculus, or Statistics • At least 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work • Experience with digital assessment and teaching preferred • Knowledge of current trends in the discipline • Strong oral and written communication skills • Solid technical proficiency and customer-focused mindset • Excellent organizational and planning skills, including proofreading and attention to detail • Ability to implement processes and procedures, manage project plans and schedules, and maintain tracking documentation • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback • Ability to travel 6–8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading • Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States • Willingness to experiment with and adopt AI-driven solutions and learn new digital tools independently • Clear and concise written and verbal communication • Learner’s mindset and commitment to growth • Ability to make data-informed decisions and solve complex problems • Collaborative and empathetic approach
