• Report to the Vice President for Operations and Organizational Development, collaborating with and supporting the outsourced Chief Financial Officer and President • Collaborate with Escalon to prepare timely monthly financial statements • Conduct periodic audits of budget items and compare budget-to-actual performance across the organization, programs, and departments • Participate in CCA Board Audit and Finance Committee meetings with the CFO to provide financial oversight and reporting • Support the CFO in developing reporting materials for the Audit and Finance Committee • Co-lead the annual budgeting process across departments and programs • Develop and monitor departmental grants and grant-specific budgets • Monitor budget-versus-actual performance and provide variance analysis • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger • Generate monthly accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations, cash flow reports, statements of activities, and statements of financial position • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures, including segregation of duties and safeguarding organizational assets • Serve as the primary contact with the Escalon Accounting Team and manage the day-to-day partnership • Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, including FASB net asset classification rules • Track restricted and unrestricted funds and ensure proper allocation • Co-manage the Grants and Contract Manager role to ensure restricted-fund compliance, grant-budget maintenance, funder financial reporting, and regulatory compliance • Coordinate and co-manage the annual independent audit • Ensure compliance with IRS requirements, including Form 990 preparation and review • Maintain compliance with state charitable registration requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks or related software, and budget creation and analysis software • In-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance with a minimum of 10 years of experience; or relevant master’s degree or CPA experience with 5–7 years of experience • Occasional out-of-state travel is required
