⢠Perform scoring of sleep testing raw data under the general supervision of the Sleep Lab Manager and Medical Director or designee ⢠Score sleep studies according to the current AASM Scoring Manual ⢠Analyze physiological data to identify sleep stages, respiratory events, and abnormalities ⢠Interpret sleep architecture, sleep staging, arousal frequency, sleep efficiency, and REM latency ⢠Maintain accurate scoring, demographic, and clinical documentation in EMR or designated systems ⢠Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality assurance requirements ⢠Troubleshoot sleep monitoring equipment and software issues and communicate with vendors or technical support ⢠Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives ⢠Score assigned studies within designated timeframes and complete scoring within 24 calendar hours of receiving a complete study, barring technical or data-entry issues ⢠Maintain technical proficiency across acquisition-platform scoring duties ⢠Train new-hire and trainee polysomnographic scorers ⢠Submit required documents and fees to the state licensing agency ⢠Obtain and maintain polysomnographic licenses without lapse and manage continuing education credits ⢠Maintain reliable home internet and communicate with team members by email ⢠Participate in quality assurance and the AASM-compliant Interscorer Reliability Program ⢠Review and evaluate sleep studies and provide educational feedback to staff and coordinators ⢠Assist the medical, clinical, and sleep center leadership with scoring operations
⢠High School Diploma required ⢠Current credentials as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) in good standing through the Board of Registered Polysomnography Technologists; RST, RPSGT, CPSGT, CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS credentials permitted under stated AASM conditions ⢠Current CPR/BLS Certification Health Provider ⢠Experience scoring in-lab studies or home sleep studies ⢠Knowledge of current AASM rules, regulations, and scoring manual ⢠Maintain proper credentialing and comply with certification requirements ⢠Ability to score sleep studies for sleep staging, arousals, respiratory events, and limb movements ⢠Ability to review and edit computer-assisted scoring epoch-by-epoch ⢠Ability to analyze EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory signals, and oximetry ⢠Familiarity with microcomputers and Windows-based software programs ⢠Computer skills appropriate for the position ⢠Effective written and verbal communication skills ⢠Critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision ⢠Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment ⢠Ability to work alongside multiple disciplines ⢠Ability to respond to unanticipated equipment or patient problems during night shift ⢠Ability to provide peer guidance and training ⢠Ability to adapt to changing workflows and learn new processes ⢠Ability to maintain HIPAA and patient privacy compliance
