Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Support the instructional program through asynchronous recorded lessons, synchronous instruction, individual communications, and intervention • Provide clear, constructive, and consistent feedback on student work, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules • Score assessments, monitor assignment completion, and coach special projects • Develop broad knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned grades • Use the Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of Supports model and student data to provide differentiated instruction and develop Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions • Provide alternate lessons, assessments, strategies, and additional assistance to meet individual learning goals • Build relationships with students and families and provide individualized instruction and intervention • Collaborate with staff and professional learning communities to monitor student progress and make instructional decisions • Develop alternate interventions and extensions with teachers, team members, and staff learning specialists • Maintain current student records and data, including cumulative files, attendance, and student and parent contacts • Coordinate with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors regarding communications, progress, and goals • Coordinate and attend social activities, school events, and relevant field trips • Engage with students and families at events and field trips • Create and maintain a virtual school community • Attend required professional development and pursue professional growth • Participate in organizing and administering State Testing • Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts requiring teacher representation • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Valid K-5, 1-8, or 4-9th grade teaching credential in Ohio • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Student- and family-focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Track record as a team player • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and diverse community members • Willingness to travel for marketing and state testing events, potentially including occasional overnight travel • Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support families • Ability to complete two-step authentication setup for system login if offered the job
