Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Manage instructional programs for elementary students through telephone, Internet, and curriculum tools • Support asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction • Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences • Communicate with parents, students, teachers, curriculum specialists, and learning coaches • Develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules • Score assessments, provide feedback, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignments, and coach special projects • Maintain detailed knowledge of assigned grade-level curriculum and general knowledge of the K–12 curriculum • Provide alternate strategies and additional assistance with assignments and projects • Keep cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and contact logs up to date • Collaborate with staff learning specialists to develop enrichment activities and student program modifications • Suggest social activities and field trips; manage regional field trips and integrate them into the curriculum • Create and maintain a virtual school community • Participate in state testing organization and administration • Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts requiring teacher representation • Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to lessons • Attend field trips and community activities • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Highly qualified and certified to teach elementary grades in Minnesota, appropriate to grade-level responsibilities • Strong technology skills, especially Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office programs • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Customer-focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Track record as a team player • Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, potentially including overnight travel • Ability to work remotely • Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support families • 2-step authentication required to access systems if offered the job
