Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Virtually assist students and parents/learning coaches with academic, social/emotional needs, and post-secondary planning • Advise students and families regarding academics and maintain current knowledge of high school graduation requirements • Assist students and parents with secondary course selection • Review student transcripts and enter credits to ensure correct course placement • Obtain and forward student records with administrative assistants and prior schools • Implement programs addressing interpersonal adjustment issues • Help families access school and community resources • Participate in crisis prevention and management planning • Secure complete and accurate student records • Support families through the school withdrawal process and collect withdrawal data • Report and refer critical incidents affecting student well-being as required by law, regulations, or ethical standards • Maintain knowledge of state incident-reporting and documentation regulations • Implement Advanced Placement, SAT/ACT preparation, and college entrance preparation programs • Assist the principal with administration of high school testing, including exit exams, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams • Support implementation of the ASCA National Model framework and align counseling initiatives with school-wide academic goals • Track student outcomes and deliver equitable support • Help students research post-secondary career and education options • Assist students with college and job applications • Educate students and parents about college admissions requirements and financial aid • Support coordination of high school graduation ceremonies • Support professional development for teachers and school staff • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Currently holds or is immediately eligible for Indiana School Services license • Master’s degree in School Counseling • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • High level of work ethic and ability to effectively manage time and work independently • Problem-solving and motivating students • Customer focused approach • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • High degree of flexibility • Team player with demonstrated leadership skills • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events, potentially including occasional overnight travel • Ability to work some occasional evening hours as needed to support families • Ability to work remotely • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication
