• Lead qualitative research and evaluation with colleges and universities • Collect and code interview, focus group, and open-ended survey data across campus consulting engagements • Apply CDI coding frameworks consistently and maintain coding quality across projects • Serve as lead liaison with the Research team and contribute to codeframe updates • Coordinate data collection logistics with campus partners around the academic calendar • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify themes, patterns, and findings • Own reports, memos, presentations, and client-facing narratives • Present findings and recommendations to external stakeholders • Build CDI’s approach to assessing campus and Institutional Change Model consulting initiatives • Conduct interviews and draft case studies • Identify institutional spotlights for Culture Change projects in partnership with Communications • Advise colleagues and partners on measuring organizational culture and conditions for dialogue and open inquiry • Report to the Senior Director of Campus Culture Change
• 5+ years of applied qualitative research experience, or a graduate degree with substantial fieldwork • Experience personally conducting interviews and focus groups • Ability to code high volumes of data consistently using a codebook • Experience with multi-coder QA or inter-rater reliability is a plus • Clear analytic writing skills • Ability to integrate survey results with qualitative data • Experience managing multiple engagements, codebook versions, and deadlines • Knowledge of organizational culture measurement • Ability to combine interviews, documents, and survey data in measurement approaches • Ability to coordinate with institutional research, academic leadership, and student affairs • Judgment across ideological perspectives and commitment to nonpartisan restraint • Comfortable using qualitative analysis software; Dovetail preferred, with Dedoose, NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or MAXQDA welcome • Uses AI to support coding and drafting while keeping interpretation human-led • Must be based in the U.S.
