📋 Description

• Execute and coordinate design engineering tasks for moderate to high complexity electronic and physical security projects • Provide design engineering support to customers, vertical teams, and CTCs • Provide design or drawing assistance during development and as-built stages of engineered drawings • Obtain electronic plans and design drawings from engineers, architects, owners, sprinkler contractors, and mechanical contractors • Create engineered drawings using AutoCAD and related tools • Prepare record drawings and O&M manuals • Maintain Convergint project design, documentation, submittal, and design standards • Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, product specifications, electrical requirements, and AHJ requirements • Participate in internal design reviews, project turnover meetings, initial site surveys, and walkthroughs • Provide project documentation, programming graphics, and other deliverables according to standards and requirements • Prepare and procure project material purchases • Obtain design information from vendors, insurance carriers, owners, consultants, and AHJs • Obtain and facilitate project permits • Communicate design progress, completion dates, scope revisions, and associated costs to Project Managers • Discuss anticipated overtime requirements with Project Managers • Perform authorized change-order work and assist with change-order pricing • Prepare and revise submittal packages to gain approval • Provide operational support during the sales phase when needed • Provide training and work direction for other designers • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum two-year technical degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience • Bachelor’s degree in engineering desirable • Minimum of three years of previous design, engineering, field service or project management experience in the electronic security industry • Minimum three years’ experience with AutoCAD required • Local, federal and industry-specific licenses as required - Security • Excellent Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint skills • Excellent Bluebeam skills • Excellent communication skills both oral and written • Experience with AutoCAD • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to solve problems and be proactive with tasks • Intermediate and advanced drafting techniques • Knowledge of practical, electrical and fabrication problems • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and AHJ requirements
