📋 Description

• Evaluate client coders’ assignment of ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes for hospital inpatient, outpatient, and physician practice encounters • Perform complex concurrent and retrospective medical-record analyses to validate coded data • Analyze findings and identify potential root causes of errors • Prepare summary audit reports with specific supporting references for clients • Provide second-level process reviews for legal, procedural, and coding compliance • Research, analyze, and respond to compliance, coding, and denial inquiries • Develop and deliver coding education to clients as part of the Consulting Services Team • Conduct assigned audits while meeting productivity standards and an expected billable productivity threshold of at least 80% when client work is available • Prepare client deliverables within audit scope and timelines • Conduct independent quality assurance of assigned audit results before final QA submission; maintain at least 95% accuracy • Report work time and work products accurately and promptly • Communicate and collaborate professionally with coworkers and clients • Provide management with planned work schedules, activities, events, sites, and changes • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Recognized credential from AHIMA or AAPC • Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical record systems required • 5+ years’ experience coding and/or auditing in an acute care facility or clinic, or other relevant experience • Strong analytical skills • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office products • Ability to work with multiple and diverse clients and projects • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Ability to maintain and access multiple files • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours a day • Ability to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently • Maintenance of professional credentials through continuing education • Ability to protect patient and client information confidentiality and follow official coding guidelines, compliance practices, and Standards of Ethical Coding • Periodic travel, as applicable
