📋 Description

• Differentiate between clinical and technical denials through EOBs, denial letters/payer correspondence, and data mining • Review UB04 and/or HCFA 1500 forms • Review timely filing guidelines regarding the appeals process • Contact payers by phone to negotiate resolution on technical denials • Appeal denials using appeal letters, medical records, supporting documentation, and on-staff clinicians • Evaluate appeal outcomes, log recovered funds, support upheld decisions, or initiate second-level appeals • Manage assigned account workload through timely follow-up and accurate record keeping • Perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours per day and handle interruptions and multiple deadlines

🎯 Requirements

• Four-year degree preferred or equivalent experience in hospital related billing/follow-up field • Knowledge of/experience working with managed care contracts • Experience working with customer support/client issue resolution management • Strong analytical acumen • Strong Communication Skills • Strong multi-tasking skills • Proficiency with MS Office • Must work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST • Remote work within the US only • Ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day • Ability to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently
