• Plan and direct analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems • Work closely with business partners, developers, testers, scrum leads, product owners, data teams and project managers to develop software specifications • Perform impact analysis, monitor software development progress and validate software meets requirements • Mentor and collaborate with technical and non-technical team members • Lead requirements gathering and analysis independently • Lead analysis of 1–2 projects and multiple products independently • Elicit, analyze and document business and system requirements, including requirements decomposition from epics to features to user stories to acceptance criteria • Communicate downstream-impacting changes to systems/modules managed by other teams • Facilitate stakeholder alignment across business and IT • Facilitate and/or participate in workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews • Identify and document business needs, objectives, procedures, problems, input/output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting and security requirements • Document and analyze nonfunctional requirements for compliance with HIPAA, state regulations and data privacy standards • Perform process mapping, data analysis, wireframing and prototyping • Support Agile delivery models, backlog management and prioritization • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications • Write and maintain functional specifications in consultation with developers, data engineers and IT management • Solicit acceptance criteria with Product Owners • Drive and collaborate with testing teams to validate business and functional processes and outcomes • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) • Ensure traceability from requirements through delivery • Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests • Assist with user training and related documentation • Support evolving business needs
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university • Five plus years related experience and/or training • Experience within insurance industry, required • Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, risk assessment and policy lifecycle, preferred • Experience working with externally facing applications and coordinating with Legal, Security and Corporate Communications before changes are rolled out, preferred • Broad knowledge and understanding of SharePoint and Microsoft Suite • Broad knowledge of SDLC methodologies • Experience with automated testing tools, quality assurance best practices and SQL queries • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills • Strong attention to detail, process, deadlines and quality results • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to interact with a wide variety of clients, both internal and external • Self-motivated to develop unique approaches to special projects • Commitment to continuous education with ability and willingness to transfer knowledge • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization throughout employment • Position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship, including visa transfers, now or in the future
