📋 Description

• Assist the Insurance Manager and Risk Management Division Chief with Insurance Section activity tasks and related items • Analyze and evaluate contract scopes of service • Recommend appropriate insurance requirements and critical terms and conditions for Montgomery County Self Insurance Program members • Ensure Certificates of Insurance and related endorsements comply with established requirements • Analyze scopes of work and contracts for exposures to develop insurance requirements for contracts and legal agreements • Work with internal colleagues, outside contractors, and vendors • Attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office as operationally necessary • Work side-by-side with County staff to facilitate knowledge transfer • Report directly to the Insurance Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the Chief of the Division of Risk Management

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university • Preference for candidates with a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in an insurance agency, brokerage, underwriting position, or contract legal work • Skill in oral and written communication to multiple audiences and organizations • Solid negotiating skills • Familiarity with, knowledge of, and ability to understand commercial insurance coverage • Ability to analyze scopes of work and contracts for exposures • Understanding of compliance with insurance requirements and certificates of insurance • Understanding of indemnity provisions in contractual agreements • Strong customer-service focus • Ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office as operationally necessary • Candidates must provide evidence of possessed knowledge, skills, certifications, and abilities indicated on the resume if selected • Successful completion of County background checks
