📋 Description

• Provide advice and service on patent preparation and prosecution • Manage related patent portfolio activities, including patent evaluation, potential infringement issues, competitive landscape reviews, and oversight of outside counsel • Manage patent prosecution and participate in implementing IP strategy • Prepare and file US patent applications and assist with applications in other jurisdictions and foreign office actions • Participate in internal patenting committees • Conduct invention disclosure interviews to identify patentable ideas • Advise senior IP leaders and partner with stakeholders to identify and design improvements • Manage outside counsel relationships • Support large and/or complex cases and matters worldwide • Manage projects and matters with appropriate supervision • Provide support and leadership in improvement and issue-resolution projects • Work with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges • Instruct and supervise outside counsel and consultants as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering, computer science, material science, physics, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience • Licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office • May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations • Significant relevant work experience, including team leadership experience • Experience with Artificial Intelligence in the IP space • Preferred: Prepared and prosecuted at least 50 patent applications • Preferred: At least 5+ years of relevant intellectual property experience, including global and domestic patent prosecution, patent strategies, patent analysis, and global IP portfolio management • Preferred: Experience with AI tools and AI prompting • Preferred: Experience with diesel engines • Preferred: Experience with data centers • Preferred: Registered Patent Agent or Attorney • Analytical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, influencing, communication, relationship management, and conflict management skills
