📋 Description

• Coordinate care between VA and community providers • Schedule appointments and ensure Veterans receive timely and appropriate care • Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, and pre- and post-appointment contacts • Process community care consults using HSRM, PPMS, and other systems • Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers • Communicate VA Community Care rules and regulations to VA medical providers • Validate and update patient demographic, emergency contact, next-of-kin, and insurance information • Process and integrate health and administrative information into CPRS and VistA • Screen and receive phone calls, respond to voicemail, and handle telephone inquiries • Serve as Patient Relations Representative and address patient and coworker concerns • Use VA software systems and Microsoft Office Suite daily • Manage incoming and outgoing faxes and mail according to HIPAA standards • Open and close clinics daily and update no-shows within 24 hours • Review access-related reports and collaborate with team members on appointments and scheduling issues • Work with the Scheduler Team Lead and scheduling team • Notify the Lead MSA or supervisor when automated systems are not performing properly • Maintain computer and IT security and protect sensitive electronic and printed files

🎯 Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance • US Citizenship required • Must be a resident of the United States and live within 50 miles of the Northern Colorado VA Outpatient Clinic in Loveland, Colorado • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required • Oral and written proficiency in English • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) • Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute; must complete typing test • Basic medical terminology knowledge • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience • No health or physical disability restrictions that would interfere with assigned duties • Preferred: one year of specialized clinical-setting experience • Preferred experience scheduling medical appointments in a clinical setting • Preferred experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems • Preferred experience screening and directing telephone calls appropriately • Prior VA or federal healthcare experience preferred
