📋 Description

• Oversee the operational health of the Azure Databricks platform • Maintain and enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for platform-wide problems • Maintain and enhance core Azure Databricks components • Define the platform strategic roadmap and adopt new features, services, and best practices • Enforce and enhance data security and governance policies • Manage Unity Catalog for fine-grained access control, data lineage, and regulatory compliance • Implement platform-level cost management and performance-tuning strategies • Optimize Databricks clusters and workloads • Maintain automated provisioning, scaling, and resource-management solutions using Terraform and GitHub CI/CD • Mentor data engineers and Azure Databricks platform engineers • Develop reusable patterns, libraries, best practices, technical support, and training • Partner with data engineering and business teams to maintain a platform that empowers them • Collaborate with security, networking, and infrastructure teams • Oversee and direct 2 platform engineers

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a hands-on engineering role focused on cloud data platforms, distributed systems, and data engineering • Deep, hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including administration, cluster management, job orchestration, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog • Expert-level knowledge of Azure, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Active Directory, and networking components • Strong proficiency in Terraform, Python, Apache Spark/PySpark, SQL, and Shell scripting • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated CI/CD pipelines • Strong understanding of distributed computing principles and large-scale data systems • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional, and Databricks Certified Platform Administrator • Experience with Azure Synapse, Kafka, or Snowflake preferred • Familiarity with healthcare data and healthcare insurance feeds preferred
