📋 Description

• Define and execute the observability platform strategy, roadmap, and operating model • Lead and develop engineering teams responsible for observability, reliability, and platform services • Drive enterprise adoption of OpenTelemetry, monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting standards • Partner with Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and Product teams to improve platform reliability and operational visibility • Lead modernization initiatives focused on automation, self-service capabilities, cloud transformation, and AI-driven operations • Define and track KPIs, platform health metrics, and engineering effectiveness measures • Manage platform investments, vendor relationships, and capacity planning

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience • 4+ years building observability platforms, developer platforms, or other internal engineering infrastructure • 3+ years directly managing engineering teams, including hiring and performance management • 3+ years operating a product or platform in production at scale, including multi-cloud or multi-cluster environments • Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure • 3+ years of hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and OpenTelemetry • Experience defining and managing SLIs, SLOs, and reliability programs • Experience leading teams in Agile or Scrum environments • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • High school diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience accepted as an alternative • Preferred: 3+ years with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, or New Relic • Preferred: Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and modern CI/CD practices • Preferred: cloud modernization and operational transformation experience • Preferred: AIOps, AI-powered observability, and intelligent automation knowledge • Preferred: experience in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or insurance
