📋 Description

• Shape scientific strategy for Danaher Diagnostics’ neurodegenerative disease franchise • Translate strategy into integrated evidence plans guiding portfolio, technology roadmap and product development decisions • Lead flagship research programs end-to-end, including academic partnerships and a multimodal patient registry • Own scientific design, execution, milestones and readouts • Design and chair advisory boards and leadership forums • Build and represent expert networks across academia, consortia and societies • Partner with diagnostics, biopharma and academic collaborators on research, validation studies and publications • Evaluate external innovation and partnership opportunities in neurodegeneration • Shape investment recommendations with the Chief Scientific Officer • Embed Danaher Business System standard work, metrics and AI-enabled practices across the scientific agenda • Lead through scientific authority and cross-functional influence rather than direct people management

🎯 Requirements

• MD, MD/PhD or PhD in medicine, neuroscience or a related discipline • Extensive post-qualification experience in diagnostics, biopharma, biotechnology or academic medicine • Significant senior scientific, clinical or translational leadership experience engaging external expert networks and scientific advisory boards at global scale • Deep expertise in neurologic disease biomarker development from discovery through clinical deployment • Working knowledge of assay performance characteristics and pre-analytical variables • Understanding of analytical validation, clinical validation and clinical utility • Experience leading clinical strategy and evidence generation programs in neurodegenerative disease or an adjacent specialty area • Accountability for study design, execution against committed timelines, readout and publication • Working knowledge of in vitro diagnostic product development • Knowledge of regulatory pathways including United States Food and Drug Administration clearance and European Union In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation • Knowledge of evidence requirements supporting diagnostic claims • Ability to author and critically review protocols, study reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts • Ability to condense scientific work into executive decision materials • Ability to travel approximately 30%, domestically and internationally, including overnight travel • Medical degree with clinical experience in neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics or a related specialty is strongly preferred • Previous clinical care provision for patients with neurologic and neurodegenerative disorders is a plus • Previous biospecimen or clinical data repository creation and oversight, multimodal data platform programs, and real-world evidence generation is a plus • Previous biopharma companion diagnostic collaborations or master research agreements in neurology is a plus • Danaher Business System or equivalent operational excellence framework experience is a plus • Recognized standing in the neurodegeneration field is a plus
