📋 Description

• Manage the Biomedical team, including facility projects, biomedical costs, quality, and teammates • Manage Biomedical Specialists within the assigned Baltimore and DC areas • Hire, promote, discipline, support professional development, and discharge teammates as needed • Monitor and evaluate direct reports to maintain high performance standards • Deploy and ensure completion of orientation, technical training, continuing education, and other educational programs • Visit each assigned facility at least semiannually to assess technical activities and policy compliance • Ensure annual skills-competency recertification for each Biomedical Specialist • Participate in FHM, audits, and on-site state or federal inspections as required • Manage equipment, labor costs, biomedical financial and business records, and facility reports • Review or approve purchases of parts, tools, test equipment, and capital equipment • Develop staffing plans and promote efficient utilization of biomedical teammates • Collaborate with operations on strategic alignment and team performance compliance • Ensure biomedical-related budgets are achieved • Develop on-call coverage procedures and schedules • Ensure compliance with DaVita policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations • Support troubleshooting and operation of dialysis machines, water treatment systems, and ancillary medical equipment • Implement policy, procedure, vendor, and product changes • Develop emergency and disaster deployment plans with the GBD and DVP • Participate in Field Operations Core Team meetings and national Biomedical initiatives • Foster trust and open communication across biomedical, operations, and clinical teams • Report to the Group Biomed Director • Manage approximately 10-12 Biomedical Specialist Technicians and travel 50-75% as required

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5-7 years of Dialysis Experience Required • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience supervising Biomedical Service teams preferred • Leadership experience strongly preferred • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing repair and maintenance service to dialysis facilities • Manufacturer’s certification for equipment predominantly used in the area strongly preferred for dialysis machines and facility water systems • Valid driver’s license in state(s)/region of employment; driving record must meet insurance liability requirements • Strong business and organizational skills • Proficiency with identifying, defining, and resolving problems and developing systemic solutions • Strong project planning, organizational, and process improvement skills • Ability to manage projects to meet specific deadlines • Ability to drive implementations and improvements proactively • Effective written and oral communication skills • Ability to teach and deliver concise, effective presentations • Willingness and ability to work additional hours with little or no notice as needed • Computer skills sufficient to effectively utilize the Web, Word, and Excel • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to travel up to 50% of time
