📋 Description

• Own end-to-end design for features across Degreed’s learning and skills platform, from problem framing and discovery through specifications, QA, launch, and impact measurement • Lead customer calls and seek direct customer feedback to build design and product sense • Improve product quality, usability, and user experience • Extend and maintain Degreed’s component-based design system • Audit and rework admin settings, profiles, and core learning workflows to reduce inconsistency • Decide whether new workflows need visible UI and determine what AI can handle invisibly versus what must remain observable and auditable • Design conversational and agent-facing experiences alongside traditional UI • Partner with product and technology leads to scope work and define requirements • Present work in design reviews and incorporate cross-functional feedback • Act as the design expert for assigned pods or product areas

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to take ambiguous or conflicting enterprise-customer input from framing through a scoped, buildable specification • Ownership of both interaction model and visual execution • Ability to distinguish stated customer requests from underlying needs • Ability to evaluate whether workflows need visible UI, considering observability, reversibility, and auditability • Experience building interactive, near-functional prototypes using code or AI-assisted tools • Experience with prompt engineering to build and test conversational agents • Working understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including accuracy, latency, and context limits • Ability to use AI tools to prototype interactions, generate and compare component variations, and identify workflows suitable for AI delegation • Experience extending and maintaining component-based design systems • Experience conducting discovery research and usability tests • Strong focus on end users, decision makers, and delivered value
