• Lead the most complex and sensitive labor relations matters end-to-end, including collective bargaining agreement interpretation, grievance escalation, represented employee issues, labor-management concerns, and workplace disputes • Lead labor relations strategy and execution for assigned bargaining relationships, including collective bargaining preparation, meet and confer processes, contract administration, negotiation support, issue analysis, and stakeholder alignment • Serve as the primary escalation point for the Labor Relations team, providing direction, consultation, and quality oversight • Lead, coach, and develop Labor Relations team members • Provide strategic consultation to senior leaders and HR partners on bargaining agreement interpretation, grievance handling, represented-employee performance and conduct matters, dispute resolution, and labor-related workforce decisions • Partner with Legal on arbitration, administrative charges, mediation, pre-litigation issues, documentation, and witness readiness • Perform internal and external trend analysis, identify systemic issues, and recommend interventions • Serve as a senior subject matter expert in labor relations, employee relations, employment practices, HR policies and procedures, and employment law concepts • Design and facilitate scenario-based leader training and guidance materials
• 8–12+ years of progressive employee and labor relations experience, including direct union interface and complex case leadership • Bachelor's degree; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree • Experience supporting negotiations, contract administration, and grievance/arbitration preparation • Experience designing enterprise standards, playbooks, and leader capability programs • Expert knowledge of NLRA fundamentals, labor-management relationship strategy, grievance processes, arbitration readiness, and bargaining preparation • People leadership capability, including coaching, work direction, case review, performance feedback, capability building, and team development • Understanding of employment risk concepts including EEO, retaliation, wage and hour, and leave frameworks • Executive-level consultation skills, including communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and conflict navigation • Advanced investigation capability, including planning, interviewing, credibility assessment, evidence analysis, and defensible documentation • Operational rigor in prioritization, case governance, standard work, and repeatable systems and playbooks • Ability to use data and insights to identify systemic drivers, recommend interventions, and measure outcomes • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (Teams); comfort with HR case management systems • Strong interpersonal, mediation, and consultation skills, with ability to handle difficult situations tactfully • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work across teams and organizational levels in ambiguous circumstances • High discretion, confidentiality, mature judgment, and professional integrity • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States • Delta Dental will not sponsor applicants for work visas
