📋 Description

• Translate business goals into concrete data engineering solutions • Apply a pragmatic engineering approach to making data work for the business • Realign client expectations when challenges arise, including delays and scope changes • Research the knowledge needed to perform tasks and know when to ask for help • Identify technical solutions for internal and client situations • Work with peers and new hires to explain and apply best practices • Prioritize multiple tasks and communicate overall project status • Participate in the technical design of systems, schemas, and pipelines • Offer sound technical guidance • Assess client portfolios, tools, and applications

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in core programming fundamentals, modern tools (IDEs, CLI, Git/version control), and basic debugging • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Ruby • Experience with compiled languages like Java, Scala, or C++ • Experience with source control systems • 2+ years of experience in data management tools • Experience with pipeline management tools like Airflow or Luigi and/or enterprise ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, or Datastage • Experience with DevOps tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker • Experience with database management systems like BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server, or Redshift • 2+ years of discovery and assessment of a client’s portfolio, tools, and applications • 2+ years of professional software and consulting experience • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is a plus • Experience with Unix-based OSes is a plus • Ability to realign client expectations when challenges arise • Ability to independently research knowledge needed to perform tasks • Ability to identify technical solutions applicable to internal/client situations and connect them to business needs • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and communicate overall project status • Ability to participate in technical design of systems, schemas, or pipelines and offer sound guidance
