📋 Description

• Teach undergraduate and graduate software development courses in accordance with DeVry University requirements • Facilitate student learning through practitioner-focused instruction • Develop course syllabi and lesson plans aligned with course and program objectives • Organize, prepare, revise, and update course materials • Use online technologies, websites, email, online discussions, and course-related software • Communicate effectively in oral and written formats to engage students and clarify concepts • Set course expectations, objectives, assignment and examination dates, and evaluation weighting • Prepare exams aligned with terminal course objectives • Grade exams consistently and fairly and provide timely student feedback • Integrate responsible AI technologies into teaching and learning • Recognize, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools • Complete other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Doctorate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field required • At least 18 graduate credit hours in software development, programming, software engineering, or related computing disciplines • Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be uploaded with the application • Degree must be from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or an equivalent internationally accredited institution • 3–5 years of applied professional experience in software development, software engineering, application development, or related programming roles • Demonstrated experience with modern programming languages, development frameworks, and software engineering practices • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications • Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to programming, software engineering, or application development • Strong subject matter expertise in software development principles • Effective communication skills and ability to explain complex programming and development concepts to diverse learners • Knowledge of secure coding practices, software lifecycle management, and quality assurance methodologies • Knowledge of testing, debugging, and version control practices • Additional requirements may apply based on state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards • Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices • Preferred: Industry certifications in programming or software development technologies, including Python, Java, or .NET • Preferred: Agile, Scrum, test-driven development, and iterative design experience • Preferred: DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control platform experience • Preferred: Full-stack application development, including front-end, back-end, and database integration • Preferred: Accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, curriculum mapping, and continuous improvement experience • Preferred: Active membership in professional software development or computing organizations • Preferred: Development environments, collaborative coding platforms, and project-based software development labs in post-secondary instruction • Preferred: 2–5 years of post-secondary teaching experience
