📋 Description

• Teach software development courses to undergraduate and graduate students • Facilitate student learning in accordance with DeVry University requirements • Develop course syllabi and lesson plans aligned with course and programmatic objectives • Organize, prepare, revise, and update course materials • Use online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions • Model effective oral and written communication • Set course expectations, terminal objectives, assignment and examination dates, and evaluation weighting • Ensure exams align with course terminal objectives • Prepare and grade exams consistently and fairly • Provide timely feedback to students • Responsibly integrate AI technologies into classroom teaching and learning • Recognize, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools • Complete other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• A doctorate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required • At least 18 graduate credit hours in software development, programming, software engineering, or related computing disciplines • Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be uploaded with the application • Degrees must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation • Three to five years of applied professional experience in software development, software engineering, application development, or related programming roles • Demonstrated experience with modern programming languages, development frameworks, and software engineering practices, including software design, development, testing, and deployment • Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to programming, software engineering, or application development • Strong subject matter expertise in software development principles • Effective communication skills and ability to explain complex programming and development concepts to diverse learners • Knowledge of secure coding practices, software lifecycle management, and quality assurance methodologies, including testing, debugging, and version control • Additional requirements driven by state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards may apply • Commitment to ongoing professional development in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices • Preferred: Industry certifications in programming or software development technologies, such as Python, Java, or .NET • Preferred: Experience with Agile, Scrum, test-driven development, and iterative design • Preferred: Experience with DevSecOps, continuous integration, continuous delivery pipelines, automated testing, and version control platforms • Preferred: Experience designing and developing full-stack applications, including front-end interfaces, back-end services, and database integration • Preferred: Experience with accreditation processes, outcomes assessment, curriculum mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives • Preferred: Active membership or engagement in professional software development or computing organizations • Preferred: Experience integrating development environments, collaborative coding platforms, and project-based software development labs into post-secondary instruction • Preferred: Two to five years of post-secondary teaching experience
