📋 Description

• Plan IBM mainframe projects, including implementation and installation plans for OS, software, and hardware upgrades or installations • Develop timelines and milestones to meet government-established project deadlines • Use IBM SMP/e and system utilities to create, populate, update, and configure datasets, parameter libraries, and members • Create and deliver detailed installation and upgrade documentation • Receive and apply z/OS communications, networking, and related software using IBM SMP/e • Interpret SMP/e output messages and resolve software installation issues • Manage SMP/e installation packages and required parameters • Create, define, and manage communications product parameters for VTAM, VPS, NDM, TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, and related software or hardware • Diagnose and resolve z/OS communications software or hardware abends and abnormal operating environment problems using logs, traces, dumps, job output, and monitoring tools • Create, secure, and troubleshoot z/OS USS file systems and mount points; manage the USS environment • Create, update, and debug z/OS PARMLIB parameters • Plan and create documentation for z/OS communications and networking software or hardware installations and upgrades • Create, update, and debug JES2 networking or communications parameters and statements, including NJE, RJE, and NODES statements • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must possess an Active Secret Clearance • Must currently possess one of the IAT Level 1 certifications: A+ CE, CCNA-Security, Network+ CE, or SSCP • Experience with IBM SMP/e • Experience with IBM system utilities, including IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, and IDCAMS • Knowledge of IBM System z/OS mainframe platform implementation, installation, and upgrades • Knowledge of VTAM, VPS, NDM, TCP/IP, FTP, SFTP, and other communications, printer, or networking software or hardware • Ability to diagnose and resolve IBM z/OS communications software or hardware abends and abnormal operating environment problems • Experience with z/OS USS file systems and mount points • Experience creating, updating, and debugging z/OS PARMLIB parameters • Experience creating, updating, and debugging JES2 networking or communications parameters and statements • Ability to work with government processes, procedures, requirements, software, and documentation formats
