📋 Description

• Design fire alarm systems for hyperscale data centers and other mission-critical facilities • Collaborate with senior design staff to advance fire alarm system design skills • Produce electrical engineering and fire alarm system construction documents • Design air-sampling smoke detection systems, including VESDA • Develop and edit project specifications • Perform engineering work, fire alarm design tasks, computations, and system analysis • Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare drawings and coordinate with other disciplines • Specify fire alarm system components to protect mission-critical facilities • Survey existing building conditions and prepare technical reports • Collect data and prepare project design and construction documents • Assist with pre-construction activities and specification writing • Review shop drawings and submittals • Review and respond to RFIs • Complete punch lists and project closeout documents • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders • Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI logs • Manage personal hours using company tools • Leverage AI and digital tools to improve efficiency and workflows • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget • May serve as trade lead on routine projects of limited scope • Interact closely with the Project Management Team and communicate with clients

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals • Minimum of three years of electrical engineering/fire alarm design experience • Knowledge of building electrical systems, basic circuiting, and life safety systems • Knowledge of NFPA 72, National Electric Code, Life Safety Code, and Building Codes • Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams • Ability to perform fire alarm code analysis, equipment selection, and wiring design • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence • Effective oral and written communication skills • Ability to communicate directly with clients • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Ability to travel approximately 10% to client sites and other business activities across the United States
