📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted legal partner to the business, identifying and resolving legal issues and structuring third-party relationships • Research, interpret, and advise on state regulatory requirements affecting the title insurance and mortgage industries • Develop clear, practical guidance in complex or unfamiliar areas • Support corporate development, financing, and other strategic transactions • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for product and service delivery and procurement • Provide legal expertise on individual title matters and assess risk • Partner with Compliance leadership on regulatory interactions and complex risk questions • Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio • Select and manage outside counsel relationships • Mentor and develop internal team members supporting contract review and other legal matters

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. and active bar admission • Substantial experience advising businesses across commercial, regulatory, and general corporate matters • Strong working knowledge of residential title and mortgage transactions • Experience operating as a broad, hands-on business lawyer in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment • Ability to work across disciplines, navigate unfamiliar questions, and advise the business beyond a narrow legal specialty • Demonstrated judgment in assessing risk and navigating ambiguity • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or entrepreneurial company • Strong track record managing outside counsel relationships
