📋 Description

• Assess lawsuits, demand letters, customer complaints, and other actual or potential legal threats • Gather facts, analyze issues, and support response strategies • Draft and review court filings with outside counsel • Support litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution • Work with opposing counsel to help resolve disputes and legal threats • Partner with teams across the organization to identify litigation risks and develop strategies to address exposure • Represent the company in small claims court as needed • Support investigations and responses to inquiries from regulators and Attorneys General offices related to customer complaints • Provide practical and timely legal guidance on business issues • Help internal partners understand potential legal considerations and risk

🎯 Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably at a law firm; in-house experience is a plus • A Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school with strong academic credentials • Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for admission as in-house counsel in Massachusetts • Practical approach to analyzing legal issues, assessing risk, and developing thoughtful solutions • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating with teammates and outside counsel • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal partners and communicate clear, actionable legal guidance • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly • May be required to obtain a gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment
