📋 Description

• Investigate and evaluate moderately complex heavy equipment/truck damage claims and losses • Review loss notices and policies to verify coverage, deductibles, loss payees/mortgagees, and coverage periods • Evaluate repair shop and independent appraiser estimates for accuracy • Evaluate photos for damage consistency and prior unrelated damage • Evaluate vehicle values and repair costs to determine repairability versus total loss • Perform field inspections and prepare physical damage estimates • Resolve coverage, liability, and claim valuation questions • Negotiate, settle, and resolve moderately complex claims and losses • Set adequate reserves to cover exposure • Prepare damage estimates using electronic estimating software or manual calculations • Negotiate claim settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys • Negotiate agreed repair prices with repair facilities • Issue payments within check authority • Respond to questions from insureds, claimants, and agents • Provide guidance to the claims team on complex repairs, total losses, and heavy equipment damage

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency • Five years of experience with truck/heavy equipment collision/mechanical repair, truck/heavy equipment claims, truck/heavy equipment sales, or related experience • Multiple state insurance adjuster and appraiser licenses required within 6 months of hire • Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment/truck collision repair techniques and standards • Knowledge of engine, mechanical, and hydraulics repair techniques and standards • Knowledge of electronic estimating software • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation abilities • Knowledge of personal computers • Occasional travel required • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if traveling
