• Provide enterprise oversight of Environment of Care, Safety, Emergency Management, Regulatory Compliance, Facilities Operations, Asset Lifecycle Management, Recall Management, and Facilities Vendor Governance • Serve as the primary leadership contact for facilities management partners • Promote a culture of safety and manage system safety personnel • Develop and oversee comprehensive safety improvement programs, including data analysis and trending • Provide Safety Officer education and training • Develop and maintain physical environment plans, policies, and procedures • Complete annual physical environment evaluations, hazard vulnerability analyses, security vulnerability analyses, Environment of Care evaluations, and Life Safety evaluations • Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, CMS, DNV, and internal standards • Conduct regulatory inspections, emergency preparedness planning, disaster drills, decontamination planning, and all-hazards planning • Conduct quarterly safety audits and co-chair the Safety program • Provide status updates to market CEOs and the Quality Management System • Review Environment of Care data and drive regional improvements • Participate in hospital committees, performance improvement, and information management activities • Coordinate multidisciplinary safety tours during new construction • Enforce interim life safety plans and coordinate infection-control risk assessments • Serve as primary system liaison for the JLL Integrated Facilities Management partnership • Monitor JLL contractual obligations, service levels, KPIs, audits, reports, corrective action plans, and vendor performance • Lead facility audits and validate vendor, regulatory, and internal-policy compliance • Oversee facility vendor categories and manage contracts, service levels, issue resolution, and renewals • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance on cost savings and service standardization • Manage equipment maintenance agreements and preventative maintenance programs • Oversee equipment service providers, performance metrics, renewals, and budgets • Evaluate asset condition, reliability, utilization, and maintenance history for capital replacement planning • Monitor equipment recalls, hazard notifications, and field correction notices • Maintain Recall Management software and disseminate safety alerts • Coordinate recall compliance with Supply Chain, Clinical Engineering, Operations, Risk Management, and facility leadership • Educate leaders on recall documentation and corrective actions • Report recall metrics and compliance performance to executive leadership and regulatory bodies • Directly supervise Safety Management personnel and oversee contracted partners, consultants, and vendors • Conduct performance management, employee development, work prioritization, goal setting, and departmental objective achievement
• Bachelor’s Degree, required • Master’s Degree, preferred • 5 years General Safety or Environment of Care experience in lieu of education • Hospital experience required • 3 years Management level experience in a position dedicated to either General Safety or Environment of Care programs, required • Knowledge of and experience with hospital Infection Prevention & Control systems and standards • Knowledge of state and federal laws, including OSHA guidelines and NFPA codes • Preferred certifications include CHFM, CHSP, CHEP, CFM, and PMP • Effective change agent • Superior interpersonal skills • Strong leadership qualities, including task completion, motivation, and organization • Knowledge and experience with root cause analysis, cause and effect analysis, and corrective or preventative action plan development • Proven team building skills with clinical and operations teams, including medical staff • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in oral, written, and electronic formats • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities with proactive decision-making and negotiation skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Good organizational skills • Ability to travel to all facility locations as required • Ability to work off-hours and on call when required
