📋 Description

• Set and maintain security protocols without adding unnecessary processes • Identify and remediate security risks through hands-on technical work • Ensure engineers and researchers implement security measures correctly • Own implementation decisions such as the approach to 2FA and explain tradeoffs • Partner with engineering and research teams to establish practical security standards • Enforce security standards while keeping them usable • Manage access across Google Workspace, GitHub, AWS, Google Cloud, 1Password, Slack, and Airtable • Grant, modify, and remove access as people join, change projects, or leave • Hold administrative and owner roles on core platforms • Run cloud accounts and software subscriptions, including projects, IAM, budgets, quotas, seats, licenses, renewals, and nonprofit pricing • Own the technical aspects of onboarding and offboarding • Provide first-line technical support for staff accounts and software issues

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security, DevSecOps, IT operations, or a similar field • Experience owning security at a medium-sized organisation • Experience with complex technical and research projects, ideally in AI • Fluency working with engineers • Experience running IT or security operations across identity, access, endpoints, and cloud • Deep knowledge of Google Workspace administration and AWS IAM is a strong plus • Comfort holding administrative authority and making access decisions independently • Familiarity with AI research and Epoch AI is a plus • Professional-level English proficiency • Ability to overlap with UTC−8 and UTC+1 time zones is preferred • Ability to travel for three annual retreats is preferred
