• Conduct desktop reviews for environmental clearance work using biological and water resource technical skills • Perform desktop-based environmental constraints analysis to determine appropriate environmental avoidance and minimization measures • Complete assignments according to ERM’s management system, format, and quality standards • Collaborate with natural resources specialists on biological and water resources review for construction sites throughout Southern California • Identify process improvements while following established processes and protocols • Process data in Microsoft Excel • Train and become independently proficient in the client’s Work Management Systems • Comply with ERM’s safety program • Conduct desktop constraints analysis using ArcGIS Online • Interpret digitally available resource layers and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment • Potentially conduct field work, special-status species surveys, and monitoring based on available skills
• BA/BS or Master’s degree in a natural science discipline • 2+ years of field experience in California habitats or similar; Southern California experience preferred • Must be able to obtain clearance through client background check to access online system upon employment • Strong proficiency in Excel, MS Word, and online data management systems • Excellent time management and follow-through skills • Strong commitment to safety and following established Health & Safety protocols • High-level written/verbal communication, organization, and analytical skills • Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports • Ability to multitask, maintain flexibility, and work independently with minimal supervision on projects with expedited deadlines • Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain • Working knowledge of sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation skills, including NWI, USGS, and aerial photography • Strong attention to detail in documentation of work • Strong organizational and communication skills • Demonstrated independent and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills • Valid driver’s license
