📋 Description

• Conduct thorough searches of public records and complete examinations to assess property title status • Adhere to regulatory title standards and Underwriter policies and procedures • Review documents affecting title, including mortgages, deeds, probate records, and trust agreements • Read and interpret real estate documents, legal proceedings, maps, and surveys • Assemble Title Commitments for issuance of Final Title Policies • Communicate with Underwriters, Title Officers, Escrow Officers, and Escrow Processing Teams • Mentor junior examiners on various title issues

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent • Minimum of 5 years of Texas title examination experience • Strong understanding of title examination process and procedures, related documentation, and their effect upon title • Fully versed in Commercial, Residential and Acreage (metes and bounds) examinations, experience in Texas • Proficient in the use of Title Data (TIMS) title plant software • Proficient in Deed Plotter software • Experience with County Government websites • Good research/investigation skills • Understanding of legal terms and awareness of new legal developments/legislation affecting real property • Excellent verbal/written skills and attention to detail • Excellent customer service skills • Ability to prioritize according to departmental guidelines • High level of organizational skills • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and manage changing priorities • Strong follow-through and ability to follow procedures/processes • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Acrobat, and various software applications • Analytical and problem-solving skills
