📋 Description

• Lead a software engineering team responsible for Search and Consumer AI • Deliver against commitments across Search and Consumer AI, owning delivery plans end to end • Scope and sequence work, remove blockers, and manage risk • Set reliability, performance, relevance-quality, and observability standards for AI and search services • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, compliance, and responsible AI standards • Own on-call, incident response, and operational health for team systems • Partner with Product and engineering leadership on planning and roadmap development • Embed AI experiences into product surfaces and establish shared ownership, interfaces, and quality bars • Guide evaluation, integration, and production rollout of LLMs and ML models • Coordinate engineers, adjacent teams, and cross-functional partners for end-to-end delivery • Represent team plans, progress, and risks in planning and review forums • Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineers • Build team processes for planning, reviews, retrospectives, and experimentation

🎯 Requirements

• 1-3+ years managing a software engineering team, or significant tech-lead experience with people-leadership responsibilities, delivering complex, high-scale systems • Experience in a Java / AWS ecosystem • Experience shipping consumer-facing AI/ML or NLP features to production, including integrating LLMs and building reliable pipelines and evaluation practices • Strong understanding of search, discovery, or relevance systems, including traditional search and LLM-based approaches • Strong technical judgment and clear, confident communication with engineers, Product partners, and leadership • Proven ability to mentor engineers and build a healthy, high-performing team culture • Familiarity with AWS Bedrock or equivalent managed AI services preferred • Background in customer support AI or embedded consumer AI experiences preferred • Familiarity with Kafka, Airflow, dbt, OpenSearch, Kotlin, and Salesforce preferred • Experience building shared platforms consumed by multiple product teams preferred • Must be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locations • Role may include in-person interviews or onboarding components • Full-time, non-seasonal hires may participate in Launching into Better: LIVE
