📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain Java backend services using Spring Boot or similar frameworks • Deliver features across registration, KYC, login and MFA, device registration, account management, tax reporting, Fanatics ID integration, and watchlist monitoring • Build and maintain services enforcing regulatory and responsible gaming requirements, including geolocation, state and self-exclusion, prohibited persons, loss limits, and eligibility • Build integrations with third-party identity, verification, geolocation, and compliance providers, designing for failure, retries, and data integrity • Write scalable, well-tested services with strong unit and integration test coverage • Contribute to architecture and design discussions for APIs, event-driven systems, and data flows • Troubleshoot complex production issues and participate in the weekly on-call rotation, runbooks, and post-mortems • Partner with Product, Technical Program Management, Compliance, Support, and client engineering on technical solutions and agile delivery • Mentor junior to mid-level engineering teammates through code reviews, design feedback, and pairing • Follow engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, observability, feature flagging, and documentation; address technical debt

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java • Strong experience building and supporting production Java backend services with Spring Boot or similar frameworks • Experience developing REST APIs and integrating distributed systems and data flows • Experience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka or similar messaging platforms • Experience working in AWS or other cloud environments • Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores such as Postgres and MongoDB • Experience using AI tools or coding assistants to improve engineering productivity • Strong troubleshooting, ownership, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and with cross-functional partners • Experience with identity and account systems, KYC, fraud, or payments is preferred • Experience with compliance-driven systems is preferred • Experience building highly available, regulated, or enterprise-scale applications is preferred • Experience with observability tooling and operating services on call is a plus
