📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate loss extent, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, and arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Perform duties independently with direct impact on management outcomes • Represent the company professionally in public interactions • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards • Travel for catastrophe deployments when assigned, typically for 23 days • Cover property damage claims across northern Alabama

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or insurance experience highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Outgoing personality and willingness to interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and investigators • Valid driver's license and bondable • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Previous property damage claims experience preferred; training available for the right candidate • Willingness and ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Ability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. • English speaking, reading, writing, and key entering ability • Willingness to travel away from residence for CAT deployments, usually 23 days, and commit to 1–3 deployments per year
