• Provide prompt, courteous, and high-quality customer service to policyholders and claimants • Answer customer calls, file claims, and resolve customer requests • Gather information to initiate claims and explain policy, coverage, and appropriate courses of action • Manage an inventory of commercial property claims from first notice of loss through resolution • Establish initial reserves for potential exposures and adjust them throughout the claim • Investigate, determine coverage, and adjust all elements of commercial property loss claims • Write appraisals for dwelling repairs or coordinate with field appraisers to review appraisal accuracy • Explain coverage of loss, including coinsurance; assist policyholders with damage itemization and mitigation steps • Handle business interruption claims • Ensure compliance with state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures • Communicate with involved parties and negotiate settlements with claimants, insureds, and attorneys within approved payment authority • Provide input for claims guidelines, best practices, and process improvements • Oversee and direct outside investigative service providers • Work with clients, client counsel, and investigative services to resolve claims
• Candidates must reside in an eligible U.S. state throughout employment • Cannot reside in California, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or outside the United States • Bachelor's degree (lack of one should not stop you from applying if you possess all the other qualifications) • Active adjuster license: resident-state license where available, otherwise a Designated Home State (DHS) license • Willing to obtain any additional required licenses within 60 days, including state testing • Minimum of 5 years of experience with property claims • Commercial property claims experience • Desk and/or field appraisal experience • Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures • Ability to analyze and evaluate complex data and make sound decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures • Curious and motivated by problem solving and questioning the status quo • Desire to engage in learning opportunities and continuous professional development • Willingness to travel for client and claims needs
