📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate the extent of loss, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software to determine claims-related damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Perform duties independently with direct impact on management outcomes • Represent the company in public interactions while maintaining professional standards • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other stakeholders • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with safety and ergonomic standards • Commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments per year; deployments usually last 23 days • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or insurance experience highly desirable and preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license • Bondable • Subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Must reside in the greater Wayne County, Michigan area • Willing and able to climb ladders, inspect roofs, and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Willing and able to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Ability to perform physical actions including bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing, reaching, standing, walking, seeing, speaking, reading, writing, and key entering • English speaking, reading, and writing required
