• Perform title examination and examine chains of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily residential • Abstract and analyze mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books • Determine property ownership, legal restrictions, and completeness of records • Resolve missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information in title documentation • Prepare initial title commitment documentation using procedural guidelines • Prepare and review reports for accuracy • Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines when applicable • Work independently on real-property titles of varying complexity • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School diploma or equivalent • Typically requires 2+ years directly related experience • Texas title examination experience • State license(s) if required • Detail / quality orientation • Analytical review skills • Research and investigative skills • Strong problem-solving skills • Communication skills, both verbal and written • Customer service orientation • Standard MS skill set • Proficiency with company operating systems • Knowledge of legal terms helpful
