📋 Description

• Own consumer engineering teams within the New Verticals division • Define and execute consumer architecture supporting expansion into essential spend • Partner with Product, business leadership, and cross-functional teams to deliver customer and business outcomes • Lead large, ambiguous projects from exploration through launch and scale • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and resolve blockers • Guide design reviews and make high-impact technical decisions • Ensure reliability, data integrity, and financial correctness across consumer workflows • Manage, mentor, hire, and grow engineers and future technical leaders • Establish ownership of customer outcomes, engineering quality, and operational excellence • Own production health and reliability of consumer services • Improve observability, scalability, and incident response • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and platform teams on safeguards for financial workflows • Ensure launches have operational ownership, monitoring, and support readiness • Represent Consumer Engineering and New Verticals in company-wide architecture and quality initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience spanning frontend and backend systems • 3+ years managing engineers • Experience building and scaling consumer-facing products and their APIs and backend systems • Strong product judgment and experience partnering with business and product leaders • Experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from definition through launch and iteration • Strong understanding of distributed systems, service architecture, reliability, and data integrity • Experience owning production services with high standards for uptime, correctness, and operational readiness • Track record of growing engineers and developing technical leaders • Ability to influence technical direction across teams and balance new-business-line needs with shared company-wide capabilities • Preferred: experience with consumer fintech, payments, banking, or lending products • Preferred: experience launching a new product or business line from experimentation through scale • Preferred: familiarity with customer onboarding, bill management, payment workflows, or consumer financial experiences • Preferred: experience using product analytics and experimentation • Preferred: experience partnering with Risk and Compliance teams in a regulated environment • Preferred: background scaling high-growth consumer platforms
