📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship scalable, observable, reliable product features for FormAssembly using Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL • Author, refine, and use technical specifications to drive implementation, capturing intent, design decisions, and acceptance criteria • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code for planning, implementation, testing, and code review while owning code quality and correctness • Design schemas and build PostgreSQL data pipelines for dataset ingestion, transformation, and loading • Ensure data quality, performance, governance, compliance, and security when handling sensitive data • Integrate features into existing applications and infrastructure • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure efficient, cost-effective containerized deployment on AWS, including ECS or Kubernetes • Work with software engineers, product managers, UX, executive stakeholders, and other team members to translate business requirements into solutions • Create and maintain documentation and training materials • Mentor team members and share best practices

🎯 Requirements

• Must be a US-based resident and citizen • Ideally located in an Eastern timezone or willing to work those hours • Willing to submit to a rigorous background check in advance of employment, including verification of references, employment history with previous employers, GitHub repository review, and confirmation of LinkedIn profile information • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field • 4–5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong focus on AWS • Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript with strong experience building backend services on Node.js • Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization • Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI-assisted engineering with Claude Code or comparable agentic coding tools, including Skill invocation and creation, MCP creation and integration, and RAG • Experience with spec-driven development, including authoring specifications and driving AI-assisted implementation from them • Ability to serve as a quality gate for human- and AI-generated code • Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control systems such as Git, CI/CD, and cloud computing platforms such as AWS • Ability to analyze complex problems, break them into smaller deliverable chunks, identify potential solutions, and design effective approaches • Clear communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Proven track record of successful contributions in Agile environments • Experience working remotely across different countries and time zones • Experience working with large-scale enterprise clients and delivering secure, high-availability solutions • Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or agentic workflows • Experience with vector search in PostgreSQL, such as pgvector • Exposure to production LLM integration, such as calling LLM APIs, prompt design, or working on AI-powered product features • Experience working directly with a Product Manager through Agile Ceremonies and Planning Sessions • Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback from peers and leadership
