Frontier Psychiatry is a telepsychiatry practice founded by Montana psychiatrists to expand access to psychiatric care for rural communities across Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. It offers virtual psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults including ADHD evaluations, addiction psychiatry, neuropsychiatry and memory care, medication management, and care coordination with local providers. Frontier emphasizes convenient access (no referral required, most insurances accepted), data-driven and evidence-based treatment, and mission-driven outreach to underserved areas.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across a broad range of psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practice • Prescribe medications and deliver psychotherapeutic interventions as appropriate • Manage an independent patient panel based on clinical acuity and patient needs • Bring complex cases to experienced subspecialty psychiatrists for consultation • Consult with the clinical pharmacist on complicated medication questions • Coordinate with primary care providers, therapists, schools, and families as appropriate • Contribute to interdisciplinary treatment planning discussions • Complete accurate encounter notes in Healthie with Nabla AI documentation support • Close documentation within 48 hours of each visit • Follow clinic policies, prescribing standards, and state and federal regulatory requirements • Stay current on developments in psychiatric treatment • Attend weekly Provider Rounds and a monthly All-Staff meeting during the work week • Use the CME benefit and share relevant learning with the team

🎯 Requirements

• Required MSN or DNP with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialization • Board certification as a PMHNP-BC • Active, unrestricted Alaska Nurse Practitioner license, or eligibility for one before the start date • Clinical experience diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions • Home setup supporting private, reliable telehealth visits • Strong written communication • Experience with rural or underserved populations is helpful, not required • Child and adolescent experience is helpful, not required • Buprenorphine prescribing experience is helpful, not required • Additional state licenses are helpful, not required • Ability to reside in Alaska • Ability to work full-time, defined as 36 scheduled patient-care hours per week • W-2 employment
