• Provide technical leadership and ensure successful delivery of transmission line designs • Maintain project scope, schedule, budget, and quality • Complete day-to-day project tasks for successful project delivery • Prepare specification packages • Prepare structural and fabrication drawings • Design and analyze transmission lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower • Design and analyze foundations • Analyze existing and proposed structures against client requirements, codes, standards, and specifications • Perform electrical clearance checks and calculations • Assist in designing Power Delivery projects • Develop engineering methods, standards, and guidelines • Provide technical guidance and act as a resource for engineers and designers • Directly manage projects without limits on project number or value • Oversee large or multidisciplinary project teams • Recommend personnel and funds required for projects • Oversee technical, legal, and financial issues of entire projects • Develop project management plans and determine project objectives and requirements • Support quality control and quality assurance through peer and final reviews • Train engineers and designers in quality control processes • Implement staff development plans • Develop design alternatives considering requirements, constraints, community input, permitting, and regulations • Integrate advanced concepts to solve complex engineering problems • Negotiate critical issues and maintain extensive contacts with engineers, officials, organizations, and companies
• 18+ years of engineering experience • Experience in electric utility transmission-line engineering and design • Required bachelor's degree in Engineering • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license • Driver's License • Knowledge of electric utility transmission line engineering and design • Strong technical, communication, computer, written, and verbal skills • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Organization and attention to detail • Ability to apply engineering principles to real-world problems • Ability to perform complex tasks using established processes • Ability to provide technical guidance and lead projects • Familiarity with engineering economics, risk analysis, and legal issues related to engineering practice • PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower experience preferred/bonus • Master's degree in Engineering preferred
