📋 Description

• Serve as the technical authority for substation physical and/or Protection & Control projects • Provide engineering leadership across concurrent projects from scoping through commissioning • Lead client and internal stakeholder engagement as the primary technical point of contact • Align project scope, resolve complex design issues, and manage client expectations • Own quality control governance for substation physical and P&C design deliverables • Establish and enforce QC standards and review senior and staff engineers’ work • Provide expert-level review and final sign-off on substation design drawings • Direct development and validation of bills of materials for physical and P&C scopes • Maintain accountability for quality control across the design lifecycle • Direct project execution from scoping and conceptual design through final design, construction support, and closeout • Ensure schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met • Ensure designs meet or exceed National Electrical Safety Code requirements • Interpret and adapt client design standards and advise on design alternatives • Mentor and provide technical direction to designers/drafters and junior/staff engineers • Support construction activities, including RFI resolution, field engineering, and constructability reviews • Travel occasionally to customer sites for field investigations, walkdowns, and construction oversight

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related degree • Ten (10+) or more years of related substation design experience • PE License highly preferred • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and clients • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure • Ability to collaborate and lead effectively in a team environment • Ability to work independently with minimal direction • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Must be located in the United States • Willingness to travel to client sites or an office as needed (10% travel)
