• Provide technical leadership and review client transmission line designs • Maintain project scope, schedule, budget, and quality • Complete day-to-day project tasks for successful project delivery • Review and prepare specification packages • Review and prepare structural and fabrication drawings • Review, design, and analyze transmission lines using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE • Review, design, and analyze foundations • Analyze existing and proposed structures against client and required codes, standards, and specifications • Perform electrical clearance checks and calculations • Apply engineering principles to Power Delivery Projects • Implement effective engineering methods and provide technical guidance • Act as a resource for engineers and designers • Directly manage projects • Develop and review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance • Keep informed of updates to standards, regulations, and best practices • Analyze complex engineering projects to determine design requirements, uncertainties, and constraints • Assign tasks to technical and non-technical staff • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work • Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules • Assist with proposals for professional services or project funding • Mentor direct reports and other engineers • Lead project meetings and represent the organization in engineering communications
• 8+ years of experience • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states • Driver's License • Knowledge of electric utility transmission line engineering and design • Transmission line design experience • Required experience with PLS suite (PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE) • Preferred experience with PLS-TOWER and FAD Tools • Comprehensive knowledge of transmission line design concepts and principles • Demonstrated track record of external customer engagements and building and maintaining successful client relationships • Strong technical, communication, computer, written, and verbal communication skills • Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff • Ability to travel for meetings, training, or business purposes • Attention to detail • Ability to work indoors in professional office settings and sit for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks
